Setup is very simplistic if you use Reaper DAW.
The first image shows how to chain VST.
Surge XT comes first, virtual AMP follows next (Archetype Abasi from Neural DSP in my case).
The following image shows how to access FX window.
Cannot speak for other DAWs, so, pardon me.
Instead of Archetype Abasi you can utilize the free Neural AMP Modeler - free of cost!
You can download Neural AMP Modeler on this page - find the button that reads «Windows Installer» under the screenshot whose label says «NEURAL AMP MODELER» (all capitals).
Additionally, you can download and play with the «ParametricOD» (overdrive plugin).
Profiles (or rather, «tones») for Neural AMP Modeler can be downloaded from www.tone3000.com website - all free of cost! You need to load them in the Neural AMP Modeler - «Select model...».
I use the tone that goes under the name «SOLDANO SLO-100 FULL RIG NAM PACK». Feel free to try others as well.
